"Towards the end of 2012, I took on a new challenge to set up the UK division for a Norwegian business called ABAX.
As with all new challenges and ventures, I feel it is of great benefit to develop contacts based on recommendation. From a marketing perspective, I have been working with Jonathan Turner of the Together Agency and when I explained my plans on recruitment he had no hesitation in recommending Roger and Taktica.
I have to say, this was an excellent recommendation. I immediately warmed to Roger - his enthusiasm, strength of character and his ability to asses my needs, leading to the provision of a meticulously planned recruitment process and assessment centre. It was clear to me from the very start that Roger was someone I could work with and trust.
Roger created a recruitment brief for 3 key roles and by using Roger’s media recommendations we secured 750 applications. Roger then came into his own as I trusted his experience in sifting through these applications. I feel that his initial thorough approach ensured he had a great understanding of what I am trying to achieve with ABAX in the UK.
Following the initial sift, Roger then created a bespoke DISC online test and then a telephone interview before we moved to assessment centres with bespoke designed Group and roleplay exercises and competency based interviews.
The overall design and framework was excellent and Roger’s overall management was first class – including his time and people commitment in between each phase of the process. Roger worked very closely with me when we were face to face with the candidates and despite the fact that ABAX UK is a start up business, we projected a very professional image. Roger’s enthusiasm bounced off my own to ensure that all candidates who made it to the final stages, were so eager to join my new business. Most importantly and due to excellent preparation and management, I have secured 7 excellent people.
